workshops and residencies

2006
Barking Abbey School
, Year 12 - designing public art sculpture based on famous Barking person. The workshops will in some way inform the artwork(s) for Barking Park.
The environmental issues that also arise often lead on to stimulating an awareness of recycling issues, for example the practice stripping copper wire from cables chucked in the skip. I try and instill in the children that not only is it a beautiful material, which can be transformed into art, but it is one of many limited earthly resources.
